Why octopus blood is blue in colour


Let us talk today about why the color of octopus's blood is blue and what is the reason for it. After all, what is there in his blood due to which the color of his blood is blue?

Apart from humans, there are many creatures whose blood is red in colour, you already know all this. Those whose blood is red, the reason for their red color is the excessive amount of iron containing protein in the blood which we call haemoglobin.

The special thing about these proteins is that they turn red as soon as they absorb oxygen. Copper based hemocyanin is a chemical which when mixed with red color turns the color blue. Octopus is a creature with 8 legs.

There is a lot of copper in the body of octopus and there is almost no oxygen in it, which means it is present in very less quantity.

Due to which the presence of copper in octopus helps in turning the color of its blood blue. Octopus is the only creature which has 9 brains and along with 9 brains it also has 3 hearts.
